It is not easy for a blind person to cross a busy street. I helped blind people cross the streets. The passer-bys were looking at me in a very funny way. I smiled at them. And there was not a single reaction from them. Probably, they were thinking that I was crazy.
One day, a young lady said to me, “I never thought of doing this cos’ people will think I am crazy”. I replied, “Say what they want, just do your good part to care for people. And imagine if we are blind”. Suddenly, she yelled out, “Yeah, I must start doing this. Yes! Yes! They need help! I must tell people to help and care for those who need help”. Isn’t this a simple touching story?
Every time as I held their hands to cross the streets, these blind people were so thankful and kept saying, either “thank you”, “terima kasih”, “nanderri” etc….” I hope one day, others can say all these in different languages. This means I would have helped more blind people cross the streets! Ha ! Ha! Isn’t it fun to care for people.
